As always there has been so much happening at Bandari and we wanted to share a few highlights and celebrate some really big moments.
Grade 7 Graduation
At the end of September the Bandari School welcomed parents, guests and students to celebrate the graduating class of 2025. It was a joyous occasion to celebrate the achievements of our Grade 7 students. There were traditional dance performances from all year levels, speeches and some acting. There were also awards given to our high achieving students.
The Grade 7’s have completed their national exams and are now waiting for their results. Then they will be heading off to secondary school next year. While it is sad to see them go, we are so very proud of what they have achieved.
We also need to mention the sponsors who have supported these students throughout their primary school journey. We are incredibly grateful for their support, and acknowledge the huge part they have played in these children’s lives.
Celebrating 10 Years of The Bandari Project
Where did that time go?
It is crazy to think that this all started 10 years ago with a completely bare plot of land and some brilliant volunteers. Each year we added more classrooms, more students and the dining hall to make what we have now.
To celebrate this milestone and huge achievement we have put together a calendar for 2026. If you would like to purchase one (and help us raise some funds) please email us at thebandariproject@gmail.com. Calendars are $30, there are limited numbers, so pre-order now!
Volunteer news
We are really grateful to have Meg Buchanan volunteering with us at the moment. Meg visited Bandari last year with her father Paul, and has come back to do some work with our teachers. Meg is a primary school teacher and has been doing some professional development with our teachers around reading fluency. We are so thankful for the wonderful work Meg is doing, and for giving up her time to work with us.
